Another Undiscovered Landscape

The mysterious Neolithic carved stone balls which have been found in many parts of Scotland are a source of fascination because of their symmetrical construction, their intense tactility, and the lack of any definite knowledge as to their function. Re-creating them in a variety of media brought out the contrast between the hands-on processes involved in creating bronze, plaster and wax versions, and the machined process of the 3D printer, where the human hand is less apparent although the human brain is still essential.
